I saw a post being shared on Facebook recently where people were asked to share 10 of their most influential albums that they still listen to. Just sharing the album cover without any reasons.
I thought long and hard about this and I don’t think I could do it. Sure, there were albums that influenced me hugely as a teenager with a new guitar to learn, but would I still listen to them now?
There were guitarists who were sharing all the ‘guitar greats’ albums with massive predictability and it just left me feeling a bit hollow.
My musical journey has been varied, I never settled for a genre and always found when bands got big, they got boring. I picked up a guitar for the first time after hearing Oasis – Definitely Maybe, but I haven’t been anywhere near an Oasis song for about 15 years.
So instead of Influential albums, here are 10 of my favourite albums, some I discovered recently and some not so recent, in no particular order without explanations and without pretence.
Please feel free to comment your own.
