Review: Swine Tax – Tory Water

Swine Tax are a trio from Newcastle who have blended punk, noise and rock into a raw assault on the senses. And I love it.

Their latest single out 1st June ‘Tory Water’ has a punky raw character and so much energy you could use it launch a rocket ship. The punky feel morphs into layers of guitars and noise clearly influenced by the likes of Sonic Youth and the cries of ‘Never had a conscience’ may have something to do with the song title. The musical chaos they create is extraordinary and I love how the vocals interact with the backing.

Overall this is an exciting release and holds promise for when they hit the studio in the next few months.
